1. What this app is
易中文 (EasyChinese) is a Chinese-learning app: vocabulary families, radicals, dictionaries, courses, listening & speaking practice, cultural stories, and text translation.
2. Data we collect
2.1 If you create an account (optional — much of the app works without one)
- Account data: email address, display name, optional avatar, your native language setting.
- Credentials: your password is stored only as a salted hash (bcrypt). We never store the plain password.
2.2 Learning activity (used to show your progress)
- Quiz attempts, lesson progress, item statistics, points, streaks, achievements.
- Word notes, saved phrases, translation history and dialogue sessions you create.
2.3 Technical data
- Your chosen server address, language/time-zone preferences, and standard server logs (request time, endpoint, error codes) needed to keep the service working and secure.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, or any sensor data. The app currently shows no advertising and contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. An ad library is bundled for a planned guest-mode feature but is switched off and makes no ad requests; if we enable it, we will update this policy and the store listing before the version that turns it on, and the store listing will then declare ads.
3. How we use it
- Provide and sync your learning progress across devices;
- Answer your translation and dictionary requests;
- Keep the service secure (rate limiting, abuse prevention);
- Respond to your support and privacy requests.
4. Sharing with third parties
- Translation service (DeepSeek): when you use the translation feature,
the text you submit is sent to our server and then to the DeepSeek API
(
api.deepseek.com) to produce the translation. Do not submit content you consider confidential. If the AI service is unavailable, the app falls back to an offline dictionary and your text is not sent anywhere. - Speaking practice — free chat (DeepSeek): in the Speaking section's “free chat” mode, each sentence you type (or say, after it is converted to text on your device) is sent to the DeepSeek API so the practice partner can reply. Input is kept inside the current practice scenario — clearly off-topic requests are refused and not answered. Please do not use free chat for confidential content.
- Audio pronunciation: pronunciation is spoken by the device's built-in text-to-speech engine (our own server-side synthesis is disabled). Some devices' speech engines work online, in which case the text being read is processed by that engine's provider. Our server does not receive your audio.
- Speech recognition: when you use voice input, your speech is converted to text by the device's speech-recognition service (Android). Depending on the device this may run on-device or online with that service's provider; our server only receives the recognized text, never the audio.
- Hosting: data is stored on the developer's own server.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
5. Security and retention
- All traffic between the app and the server uses HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed; account tokens expire.
- We keep your data while your account exists, and delete it when you delete your account.
6. Deleting your account and data
- In the app: 我的 (Me) → 设置 (Settings) → 删除账号 (Delete account), which asks for a second confirmation.
- Deletion anonymises your account (email replaced, password removed, display name set to “Deleted User”) and deletes your per-user learning data (progress, quiz attempts, points/check-in logs). Content you posted without an account link is de-identified.

7. Children
The app is intended for general learners aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.

1. 收集什么：账号信息（邮箱、昵称、可选头像、母语设置）、密码（仅存哈希）、 学习数据（测验记录、课程进度、积分、连续天数、成就、单词笔记、收藏短语、翻译历史）， 以及保持服务正常与安全所需的常规服务器日志。不收集位置、通讯录、相册、文件、广告标识； 应用内没有广告、没有第三方统计或崩溃上报 SDK。
2. 第三方：① 翻译：你提交的文本会经我们服务器转发到
DeepSeek（api.deepseek.com）生成译文；AI 不可用时会降级为内置词典，此时文本不外发。
② 口语「自由对话」：该模式下你每一句话（打字，或语音在设备上转成文字后）
都会发给 DeepSeek 以生成对方的回话；输入被限定在当前练习场景内，明显跑题会被拒绝回答、不做解答；
请不要用自由对话输入机密内容。
③ 朗读（发音）：由设备自带的语音引擎发声（我们服务端的语音合成已关闭）；
部分设备的语音引擎需要联网，此时被朗读的文字由该引擎的服务提供方处理，我们服务器不接收你的音频。
④ 语音识别：语音输入由设备的系统识别服务转成文字（视设备可能在本机或联网完成），
我们服务器只收到识别后的文字，不接收音频。
我们不出售你的个人数据，也不用于广告（当前应用内没有广告）。
3. 安全与保留：全链路 HTTPS；密码哈希存储；账号存续期间保留数据，删号即删除。
4. 删除账号与数据：App 内「我的 → 设置 → 删除账号」（需二次确认）会把账号匿名化 （邮箱替换、密码清空、昵称改为 Deleted User）并删除你的学习数据（进度、测验记录、积分/签到日志）； 也可通过上面的邮箱提出请求。完整说明（删什么/留什么/多久完成）见 账号与数据删除说明。
5. 儿童：面向 13 岁及以上学习者；不会有意收集 13 岁以下儿童的个人信息。
6. 变更：政策更新时会同步修改页面顶部的更新日期。
